Uniquely designed for the World Chess Championship, and adopted by the Mozart of chess – Magnus Carlsen, this Official FIDE chess design has all the hallmarks of excellence of design one expects in a luxury set. With a contemporary atmosphere, the FIDE ebonized design was designed in line with chess playing aesthetics, and with white and black corresponding base felts. This is the official World Chess Championship set approved by FIDE.

Well made

The board is well made, and the colors of the pieces are easy to distinguish in low light (which is needed for our house!). I love the storage drawer underneath the playing surface.

Likes: I really enjoyed the personal interaction I had with this company! They really have excellent customer service!

Improvements: I have nothing to complain about.

Imperial chess pieces.

Very nice set! All the measurements and weights were correct. Looked exactly as they did on the web site. The knight is definitely a very distinct and well crafted piece in the set. I collect lots of sets and when I saw this one I knew it was a must get for me! Also, this was the first time purchasing a set through Chess n Boards and it was pleasant experience. I had a few questions and they emailed me back during the shipping process.

Likes: I like that I purchased this chess set in 2026 and not 1985, because then I would have had to mail a check or money order to some P.O box in the middle of a Kansas cornfield and hope that it will arrive within the next 8-10 weeks.

Improvements: Hmm.... Use the Pony Express to deliver packages and not UPS.

Really nice chess set except I think it's invisible. I say it's invisible because it's not here. There was a delay with UPS. But I'm sure if I WAS looking at it, and it was in the same room that I'm in, I'm sure I would have nice things to say about it. Lol

Likes: The light easy to clean, children will play it, fun design

Improvements: Maybe QC…. Small chip on t both ends of the black Rook
