The feel and weight of the chess pieces is exactly what my husband was looking for. The minimalist pieces are beautiful. Great find that compliments the homemade chess board my husband and my 85 year old uncle made together. Both are of high quality!

Beautifully crafted pieces - true to the images. Fit the decor of my new home perfectly! The sellers shipped out the pieces safely and quickly. Seller was also very quick to reply to messages and very kind and helpful! I used a standard size BIC lighter for size reference (it was the closest item on hand that has a fairly universal size - lol). Will be ordering the End Grain Ebony Chess Board next! I wish I could buy all of the uniquely sculpted pieces, but for now these pieces are everything I was hoping for! Bought it as gift for my boyfriend and I to play together (fun simple stay-at-home date night) and to start to teach my 5 year old to learn to play also! Extremely satisfied and excited!

I ordered the 7x7 travel chess set as a gift for a friend and when it arrived I was impressed with the quality. The chess board was clearly hand made with lots of attention to detail and my friend loved it. I can’t imagine a better gift for someone who loves the game of chess and appreciates quality items that reflect honest and beautiful craftsmanship.I ended up calling the Hastha Kalalu to address a minor issue with the shipment (a few pieces were missing from the set when it arrived), and they went above and beyond to solve the problem in such a timely manner! Whereas I was expecting to encounter a bureaucratic corporation with a tedious process for submitting claims and rectifying issues, I spoke directly with the person running the store. Without hesitation, they admitted their mistake and shipped me replacement pieces within a day. I think that while little mistakes are inevitable when managing any online business, the differentiating factor comes with how those mistakes are addressed and learned from. Just from that one interaction, it was clear to me that the people at Hastha Kalalu are genuine, hard working, honest folk who care about their customers and the products they sell. I’m not sure if the chess pieces are what my husband want as it’s a Christmas gift and he hasn’t opened it yet. I’m writing this review because I’m being bugged about it on a daily basis and I tired of it.
