I ordered the 7x7 travel chess set as a gift for a friend and when it arrived I was impressed with the quality. The chess board was clearly hand made with lots of attention to detail and my friend loved it. I can’t imagine a better gift for someone who loves the game of chess and appreciates quality items that reflect honest and beautiful craftsmanship.I ended up calling the Hastha Kalalu to address a minor issue with the shipment (a few pieces were missing from the set when it arrived), and they went above and beyond to solve the problem in such a timely manner! Whereas I was expecting to encounter a bureaucratic corporation with a tedious process for submitting claims and rectifying issues, I spoke directly with the person running the store. Without hesitation, they admitted their mistake and shipped me replacement pieces within a day. I think that while little mistakes are inevitable when managing any online business, the differentiating factor comes with how those mistakes are addressed and learned from. Just from that one interaction, it was clear to me that the people at Hastha Kalalu are genuine, hard working, honest folk who care about their customers and the products they sell. Staunton Style German Knight Chess Pieces in Ebonized Boxwood
I would like to order the style and woods with the the king ‘s base which is 1 5/8” to 1 3/4”.
What is the diameter of the base of the King which is 3 3/4” tall.

I ordered the “minimalist blue & Clear crystal glass chess set” (cnb1822) but received a brown and black crystal glass chess set (cnb1801). The quality is fantastic and I’m very impressed with the finishes but this is not what I ordered. I have to return this set as it doesn’t match the organizations blue theme, and arrange to have the blue and clear crystal set sent again. Very frustrating considering the cost of the chess set. I would have expected better attention to detail.

Great pieces! Looks beautiful with my 17” board with a similar color palette. A bit on the pricey side, but worth it for a wonderful looking set. Definitely tournament grade quality and weight. The color is lighter than what is pictured as you can see.
I was really worried that the pieces are gonna be too light and/or uncomfortable to hold and I am released to say I was wrong. You can feel the weight of each piece and it is very satisfying to place them on the board, which is a work of art on its own.I also didn’t expect the board and the pieces to be that big. On of the photos you can see me holding one of the queens, it’s a very big piece. The board is quite heavy and has the same green fabric that all the pieces have. It feels very smooth and you can see and feel how well crafter it all is.The package doesn’t include any bags for the set, so if you want to keep it dust-free, make sure to get those separatelyAll in all, very satisfied with the purchase, a chess set for generations
